Just a couple of weeks left until my wee windowsill herb garden is transferred outdoors! I’ve been working hard to tidy up and make room for them all in the backyard, but in the meantime I thought I’d post a couple of updated indoor photos to let you in on their progress to date.
As always, clicking on each photo will take you to the larger version on Flickr.
Sage
The sage is really going strong! Both the sage and the thyme were planted later than everything else, but they’re both catching up nicely, I think.
Chives
Mmmm, chives. I tasted one the other day and can’t wait until they’ve grown enough for me to chop up a bunch in some scrambled eggs!
Thyme, Oregano, Parsley, and Sweet Basil
I thought I’d do a grouped photo this time rather than separate each pot, just to give you an idea of how lovely and green they all look together. Every time I see them, along with the sage and chives beside them, I feel happy and proud and, somehow, at peace.
Gardening is magical! I’m so glad I started this new hobby.
So, how is your garden growing?

We have a little postage stamp of a lawn, half of which I’ve claimed for the pool. I have flower borders and manage a few tomato pants every year, but that’s about it. The ability to have a garden again will be one of the big perks of moving more rural.

Our yard is pretty tiny too, Beth! But we’re discovering that you can do a lot with small spaces and containers. I never realized gardening could be so much fun!

LOve the herbs. I have a raised bed of herbs in the backyard, but this spring I had to add herb pots to the front porch. A baby bunny is living under the large globe of oregano and we don’t want to disturb him.

Awww, a bunny! That’s sweet.
I haven’t seen any of those around our area – plenty of squirrels, but no bunnies!

I’ve been hanging out in my little backyard lately and picked out the perfect wall for my shelved herb garden that I’m going to grow. I love chives too!
