Will you be blogging ten years from now?

Inspired by NaBloPoMo writing prompt for Tuesday, March 11, 2014:

Do you think you’ll still be blogging 10 years from now?

ten

Since I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember, I think it’s a fairly safe bet to assume that I will probably still be writing – in some form or another – ten years from now.

But as for blogging… who knows?

I’m fairly lousy at predicting the future. I mean, if years ago you’d told me that some day blogging would become a “thing” – that average, everyday people could write about their life and share it with the world and, bizarrely enough, the world would actually be interested in reading about it – well, I probably would have laughed in your face!

Apparently I am not much of a visionary.

I actually started blogging just over ten years ago, so if ten years from now I’m still blogging… wow. That would be something! But thinking about the future of blogging, and my role as a blogger, only raises more questions than answers.

In ten years from now…

…what new technology will be available, and how will it affect blogging?

…what new internet trends will emerge, and will they take the place of blogging?

…will blogging as it stands today even exist?

My lack of imagination means that I have zero notion as to my own role and position in the blogosphere ten years from now… so I guess my (rather uninspired) answer to the “will you be blogging ten years from now” question would have to be, I just don’t know.

But stick around… I’m not planning on disappearing anytime soon!

How about you?

Do you think you’ll still be blogging 10 years from now?
Please share!
