The sun has been shining brightly all day, it’s only -8°C out there (hey, the below-zero temperature is finally in the single digits – I’ll take it!), and the official first day of Spring is less than a month away. Life is good! In the meantime, though (while we’re waiting for the snow to melt), how about some Wildcard Wednesday fun?
Wanna play?

(If you missed the inaugural Wildcard Wednesday post, check it out to see what all the fun is about!)
All you have to do is comment below with two numbers – the first between 1 and 612 (i.e., the number of pages in the book) and the second between 1 and 30 (i.e., the approximate number of happy items listed on each page) – and I’ll consult 14,000 things to be happy about and give YOU something to be happy about! (If there aren’t enough items on the page you choose, never fear – I’ll just keep counting over to the next page so you won’t miss out on any happy goodness.)
Before you jump in and comment, however, know that there are no guarantees as to what you’ll end up with (as you might have guessed from the “Wildcard Wednesday” moniker!) – your chosen happy item might turn out to be whimsical or evocative, silly or inspirational, perfectly timed or completely inappropriate… it might spark a memory, a question, a conversation… or hey, it might even give you an idea for a story or blog post! But no matter what, I think it’ll be fun… and I’d love it if you’d join in!
So, are you ready to play?
Give me some numbers and I’ll give you some happy!

For my numbers I will choose 444 and 4 I’m on a 4 kick this evening. I don’t know what 4! And when I get your reply, I will make it into a short story of about 300 words. That will be my challenge.

Oooh, this could be interesting… “South Dakota: Badlands, Black Hills, Mt. Rushmore, clear days.” Good luck!

I’m going to go with 567, and 24, just because….
Also, I love the title of this book. I’ll have to look and see if I can get one of my own someday.

Your happy for today is, “luxuriating with supplies of fresh towels, soaps, body lotions, and powders.” That sounds about perfect to me!

Yes, yes it does. I enjoy long hot baths. I’m the water baby, and my sister is the sun baby. Now where did I put those homemade bath salts?

Uh-oh… there are only 27 items on that particular page, and that’s the last page of the book, so I have nowhere to go! OK if I give you #27? It’s a good one – “dozens of places to curl up with a book.” 🙂

This is such fun, Laurel!

Your happy for today is “wrapping tape” – which I HOPE doesn’t mean packing tape, as that stuff is just annoying and not very happy-making at all! You can have a do-over if you’d like. 😉

Since the second number is too large, do you mind if I go with just the first digit and give you #3 on that page? It’s “cardinals, quail, and robins flitting about the rhododendron and mountain laurel.” 🙂
