This is one of those days where I seriously wish someone had invented a reliable, free (or cheap!), easily-accessible teleportation device already… because if they had, I would be able to whisk myself back to Victoria to celebrate Mother’s Day with my lovely Mom and family. Alas, at this point we’re limited to more conventional means of transportation, so I’ll have to content myself with sending across the miles my heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for all that she is and has done.
Happy Mother’s Day, Mom… I love you!
In no particular order, here is my own gratitude list for this moment in time. I hope that after reading it you’ll go on to write and share your own!
- Having access to excellent, professional veterinary care for our beloved cats.
- My new drafting table and having some time to enjoy using it to make art.
- People with big, kind hearts.
- Receiving a speedy income tax refund (one week from filing!) and being able to put the money towards building up the savings in some of our budget categories.
- Living near the river with its gorgeous riverfront parks – such a lovely, peaceful place to sit and relax.
- Being married to my best friend.
- Discovering this beautiful and inspirational quote.
Now it’s your turn!

Today I am just grateful for my good health because without good health I would not be able to appreciate life.

I always feel that way on Christmas Day, Laurel – that I want to be whisked to Michigan to see my family, but without the weather and airport hassles. Your Mom is lucky to have you for a daughter!
And I can’t wait to see a photo of your new drafting table, not to mention the art that will come forth upon it.
Hearts and Hugs, Sammy

Today I am thinking of my mother, and all that she did to make my life worth living, I am grateful for her in my life; I am also grateful to my daughter for being independent(she is managing her homework … ) and at the same time very loving (she knelt down and wished me with flowers,) I am delighted that she is growing up in to a young lady. I am grateful to my husband David for helping me in the household chores… I loved your pic…. and wish you a happy mothers day.

Great post and I too wish I there was a transportation device. My Mum lives 1800 miles away and I saw her last year. I am exciting she is coming in a month 🙂

I would also love the teleportation device, so I could have visited all my adult kids yesterday for Mother’s Day (the four of them live in three other states!) I’m also reminded of a song called “If Heaven Wasn’t So Far Away” – and I would have visited my Mom and Dad there!
I am thankful, however, that I at least heard from all four of my kids – and got flowers from one of them and from my darling hubby.

I love your idea of a Gratitude List. I also have often wanted a teleportation device, usually when I’m half-way through a 24 hour long haul flight. The problems of living in NZ!
