Today’s Gratitude List – Linkup No. 54 + 100 Happy Days – Day 58

Today’s happiness is brought to you by a “getting organized for 2015” session with my Filofax, some personally-customized weekly checklists printed on full-sheet labels, and the little $3.00 paper cutter I picked up a few months ago at the dollar store (which, incidentally, has proven to be one of the most inexpensive and invaluable tools ever!).

100 Happy Days - Day 58

100 Happy Days – Day 58

It may sound silly, but fact that I’m good at – and actually take pleasure from! – getting organized is something that’s on my gratitude list. I used to be rather over-sensitive about being referred to as organized (I think “organized” somehow translated to “boring” in my mind!), but I’ve grown to appreciate being this sort of person. Of course I don’t always live up to my own plans and expectations, but I do a whole lot better than I would have if I didn’t set up these kinds of systems for myself in the first place.

Let’s hear it for organization!

My Gratitude List

In no particular order, here is my own gratitude list for this moment in time. I hope that after reading it you’ll go on to write and share your own!

  • Finding out that BlogHer ’15 is going to be held in New York City – one of my favourite places, and also an accessible and relatively affordable destination for me, travel-wise.
  • One of my daily photos being highlighted in the “Extraordinary Eight” on the FMS Photo A Day Facebook Group.
  • Great talks, supportive friends, connection.
  • Our local cable company’s “Video on Demand” service – an extremely inexpensive way to go to the movies from the comfort of home. (As an aside, last night we watched The Book Thief, and I highly recommend it. The book by Markus Zusak is one of my all-time favourites, and I wasn’t disappointed with how it was developed into a movie.)
  • Long sessions of productivity.
  • Peter’s smile, laugh, silliness, sense of humour.
  • My perfect-for-me job and my accommodating employer.
