Today’s Gratitude List + July 2015 Gratitude Linkup

In some ways it’s been a rather tough few days in my corner of the world, as BlogHer ’15 happened this weekend – but not for me. Friends who’d arrived in New York City early started sharing posts and photos days before the conference even started, and the stream of updates throughout my social media feeds continues even now that the event is officially over.

While I am tremendously happy and excited for everyone who was able to be at BlogHer ’15 in person, at times it’s been a struggle to stamp out an overwhelming rush of “poor me” feelings of envy and sadness that I was not. I’ve been trying (not always successfully, but trying) to focus on gratitude – specifically for the opportunities I had to attend the conference for three years in a row, and the fact that I enjoyed and benefited from my previous experiences so much that missing out this year was such a big disappointment.

Sometimes it works. 🙂

In no particular order, here is my own gratitude list for this moment in time. I hope that after reading it you’ll go on to write and share your own!

  • The meaningful connections I made during my previous BlogHer conference experiences.
  • My lovely friend Sabrina, who was my roommate at all three conferences and who I miss tremendously this year.
  • The chance to visit New York City (my second time), Chicago (first time), and San Jose (first time) while attending the conferences.
  • Opportunities to offer little kindnesses to others.
  • Our air-conditioned house – a cool refuge in the midst of a heat warning.
  • Living in a city full of wonderful restaurants.
  • My new Fitbit, which is motivating me to move more.
  • An evening out with friends – delicious dinner, a great chat, and lots of laughter.
  • Fresh, ripe strawberries.

Now it’s your turn!
