Tangled Tuesday No. 97

It has certainly been a busy – and varied! – week in my little corner of the tangling world, and I’m excited to share a selection of projects I’ve been able to complete since my last post. Happy Tangled Tuesday – hope you enjoy!

Laurel Regan, CZT

If you’re in the Windsor-Essex (Ontario) region, please check out the fall classes I have scheduled through October and November, all of which are open for registration. I’d sure love to see you there!

P.S. – One special class which isn’t listed on my website but IS posted on my registration site and is open to my Introduction to Zentangle graduates is a Tangled Candle Craft evening. (Keep reading this post for a photo of my own tangled candle!) If you’re interested in taking this class, but haven’t yet completed an Introduction to Zentangle class, never fear – there are TWO advertised sessions with seats available between now and the craft night – or if you would prefer individual instruction, I am also available to work with you directly. All kinds of options!

New Tangles

Since my previous Tangled Tuesday post I have learned the following new-to-me tangles.

Work in Progress

Guess what? After months of work (and a certain amount of distracted procrastination, truth be told!), all 20 pages of my colouring book-to-be are now DONE! (Yes, finally!) Now comes the not-so-fun part of scanning the pictures and setting up the book for publication, which I am hoping to get done really quickly so it doesn’t make the project drag on a whole lot longer, but more importantly so that the book is ready to be promoted for holiday season sales. Wish me luck!

Finished Projects

Here’s the tangled candle I mentioned earlier in this post. I’m really pleased with how it turned out, and am looking forward to seeing the beautiful creations my students come up with!

In between other projects I completed this 6″ x 6″ ZIA.

This week’s mail brought me a copy of Time to Tangle with Color by Marie Browning, CZT as well as a package of Tombow Dual Brush Pen Art Markers, so after paging my way through the book I started to experiment with the pens, and this is what emerged.

Though I had fun creating the piece and playing with the pens, I’m rather uninspired by the end result. Quite honestly, I’m not yet all that comfortable working with colour, and I think it shows! I guess this is something for me to keep on practicing (though I suspect black on white tangling in the original Zentangle fashion will always be my favourite).

Now on to a new week of tangling!
