Tangled Tuesday No. 61

So as it turns out, this past week the saying “Leap, and the net will appear” kind of came true for me.

You might remember my announcement a couple of weeks ago that I’d registered for an upcoming CZT (Certified Zentangle Teacher) seminar, not yet having saved enough money but taking a leap of faith in the hope that I’d be able to come up with what I needed to pay for it all before the deadline. Well, guess what? The “net” appeared in the form of an unexpected opportunity to work five additional hours every week at my current job! The extra money I earn will go a LONG way toward helping me pay for my attendance at the seminar, and I’m so very grateful to move a little closer to making one of my tangling dreams come true.

Now isn’t that a fabulous way to start this week’s Tangled Tuesday post?!

Tangled Goodies

I received something in the mail this week that I have to share with you, as I was completely tickled with it – one of my designs (ZIA 29) printed on a fabric sample from Spoonflower.

Fun, right?! I’ve already uploaded several different designs to my Spoonflower shop, but this is the only sample I’ve received and approved (and therefore the only one currently available for sale). I’m definitely planning to add lots more in future days, so watch this space!

New Tangles

This week I learned 8C, Meringue, Sprigs, Chi, and Test Pattern, all from TanglePatterns.com.

I also learned Queeries by Neil Burley of perfectly4med.

Finished Projects

One of the Photo A Day Challenge prompts this week – “Rainbow” – inspired me to incorporate a little (er, LOTS of!) colour into a new Zentangle-inspired art piece.

Working with colour is definitely a different experience for me, and when I see some of the absolutely gorgeous work other tanglers produce I realize how much I have to learn. There are so many techniques to master – something for which to strive!

Challenges

I keep discovering new-to-me tangle challenges, and as I would love to participate in as many as I can each week I decided to give them their own little section of my Tangled Tuesday posts.

This week I kicked things off with Zendala Dare #110 from The Bright Owl (which reminded me that I wish I had a light box for tracing outlines!).

Then I moved on to joey’s weekly tangle challenge #80 from madebyjoey.

Now on to a new week of tangling!
