Tangled Tuesday No. 57

How… HOW… can it possibly be September already?! Just one blink and the summer months are over and done with? Crazy! Well, since it’s actually here, let’s start off Alphabet Salad’s new year (because September will always signify a new year to me) in the best way possible – with a good dose of tangling. Happy Tangled Tuesday!

Important Announcement!

In case you missed it last week, I’ve set up a single page on Alphabet Salad gathering my ever-growing list of portfolios and shops together in one easy-to-navigate hub (which will be updated as my online presence evolves). If you’d like to check it out, just look for the row of buttons below the Alphabet Salad header and click on * shop! to get there.

And, incidentally, it did evolve this week, as I added a portfolio on DeviantArt as another of my homes on the web. The site has been around forever (at least in internet terms!), but I’ve only just now made use of it for myself, and I’m really enjoying the community so far – lots of great feedback and interaction among members.

Tangled Goodies

Remember how I mentioned last week that I’d (rather cluelessly) ordered the wrong phone case for myself? Well, I have two bits of good news about that little fiasco – first of all, the recipient of the wrong-to-me case received it this week and loves it (yay!), and secondly, my own new (correctly-sized this time) case arrived in my mailbox.

Though it feels a little funny to say this about my own art, I’m quite delighted with my new accessory!

New Tangles

I learned a couple of new designs this week – Hamail and Zenith, both from TanglePatterns.com.

Finished Projects

I am so excited about my newest finished piece, as I really do love how it turned out.

It doesn’t seem to happen all that often in my tangling experience, but in this case I was actually able to take the vision for what I wanted and successfully translate it onto the page. A rare treat indeed!

Once the piece was complete I set it up as a digital file and started creating some fun new products. I’m not quite finished yet, but here’s a handful of the goodies (with apologies – in some cases – for the poor photo quality which was beyond my control):

I also managed to get back on track with The Diva’s Challenge, which this week was to play around with the new official Zentangle “Zenith” tangle. I headed into my tile not really having any idea of where I wanted to go with the challenge, and ended up with a rather odd little piece which I think has quite a different feel from my usual work. So interesting where the designs sometimes take us!

Now on to a new week of tangling!
