Tangled Tuesday No. 54

Whew… this has been a busy, busy, BUSY week of tangling – FAR busier than normal! Why? Well, when I read in the latest Zentangle® newsletter that the 2016 schedule for CZT (Certified Zentangle Teacher) training will be announced in about a month from now, I decided that I am going to sign up for one of those seminars and become a CZT in 2016.

But why on earth would that decision make me so busy, you ask?

Well, in order to make my dream come true I must first earn the rest of the money I’ll need to pay for it. (Pesky thing, money!) I’ve been building up my CZT fund for awhile, and have a nice little sum tucked away – but since I still have quite a distance to go I realized that I’ll need to put some serious effort into promoting my campaign to become a CZT.

So that’s what I did this week, and it’s been a great success so far! Prior to getting started I had already earned 14% of the total amount needed to attend the conference, but several kind contributors have since come forward to add to the fund, and as of writing this post the amount raised is up to 19%.

So exciting!

But I realize that I still haven’t answered the question as to why I was so busy this week. Well, what you might not know is that for everyone who adds to my CZT fund, I have committed to creating a one-of-a-kind piece of tangled art – different sizes based on different contribution amounts – and sending the original finished piece to them via snail mail. So as you can imagine, I’ve had my hands full – and was delighted to do it.

(Since I’m not even one quarter of the way there, I’ll be continuing with the promotion until I reach my goal, and am hoping that leads to more busy weeks to come of tangling my little heart out! If you’re interested in getting involved and owning your own original piece of tangled art by yours truly, I invite you to consider my campaign.)

Now, after that long preamble, let’s get on with sharing some art. Welcome to another Tangled Tuesday!

Tangled Goodies

In addition to the tangling I did for my generous sponsors, I added another new product for sale to my Ten Thousand Tangles shop on Etsy.

Do you have any suggestions for something new you’d like to see in any of my shops (all listed at the end of this post)? Please don’t hesitate to let me know, either as a comment on this post or via e-mail.

P.S. Do YOU sell on Etsy? If so, please leave a link to your shop in the comments section below so that I – and my readers – can drop by and take a look!

New Tangles

This week I learned two new tangles, Dicso and Harfe, both from TanglePatterns.com.

Finished Projects

I had so much fun creating art for my lovely contributors!

First up was a 2″ x 6″ tangled bookmark.

Next was a 2.5″ x 3.5″ tangled ATC (Artist Trading Card).

Then I moved on to a 2″ x 2″ tangled sticker, which I did as a monotangle using one of the new patterns I learned this week (Harfe).

Taking a little break from sponsor pieces, I decided to set up another colouring page (see “Tangled Goodies” section above!) with no shading and minimal filled-in sections.

If you end up downloading a copy for yourself, I’d love to see the finished result once you’re done with the colouring!

Then it was back to my sponsors. My next recipient is known for her love of both cats and fibre arts, so I decided to set up a tile that included representation of each. I hope she likes it!

My last (for now!) sponsor piece was another 2.5″ x 3.5″ tangled ATC.

And FINALLY, in the midst of everything else, I completed The Diva’s Challenge! This week we were tasked with choosing tangle patterns that feel natural or organic – and here’s my finished tile.

Are you as exhausted as I am after that marathon post?! Hopefully you enjoyed the pieces I shared, and will be back for another Tangled Tuesday after another (hopefully) busy week to come!
