Tangled Tuesday No. 46

Can you believe that it’s been over a month since my last Tangled Tuesday post?! April with its many fun challenges was a huge flurry of activity, but even amidst all my photography and blogging and NaPoWriMo poetry-writing efforts I still managed to find some time here and there for tangling… and now I’m ready to share!

Tangling Goodies

I am SO EXCITED to announce that an art-related article I wrote was syndicated on BlogHer this past month. Imagine that – a) ME writing a post about ART and b) having it published?! If you’d have told me either of those little tidbits just a few short years ago, I would never have believed it, but there you go – life sure does have a way of surprising you.

Syndicated on BlogHerAnyway, I’d love it if you’d check it out! Here’s the link:

In other news… as my tangling supplies have been threatening to overwhelm my small office, I came up with the idea of taking over part of our tiny (and mostly unused) guest room and turning it into an arts and crafts studio. I presented the idea to Peter, and he jumped on board right away. Exciting! We tidied the room, shuffled some furniture around (or out), and made way for Phase One of the transformation – my new desk.

Arts and crafts studio, Phase One!

I absolutely love it – there’s room to store tons of pens, pencils, and supplies, plus the adjustable angled worktop means that I can lose myself in tangling for hours on end and not suffer the next day from sore shoulders and a kinked neck. Win-win! I’m thrilled with this new development, and will keep you posted as my studio evolves.

New Tangles

Over the past month I learned several new tangles – Balo, Biscus, Keystone, Tizzy, Showgirl, Fandango, Cloudfall, Swells, ‘Brella, Loop, and Intwine – all from TanglePatterns.com.

And good news! My two new Moleskine sketchbooks with their beautiful bright red covers finally arrived – and just in the nick of time, too, as I only have five spaces left in my current tangle practice sketchbook for new patterns. Now I’m ready to continue learning!

Tangling in Progress

I mentioned in my last Tangled Tuesday post that I had started an Easter-themed ZIA, and that I’d share the final results with you when it was complete. Alas, it turned out to be another project on which I got stalled, so it’s currently languishing in my WIP file. Maybe next Spring?!

Other than that, all of my recently-started projects are actually complete, which brings me to…

Finished Projects

Lots of catching up to do after a month without any Tangled Tuesday posts!

Some of you may have seen my first finished piece, as I drew it in response to one of last month’s Photo A Day Challenge prompts and shared it in my March photo a day post… but for those of you who might have missed it, here you go!

Moving on to the delightful Draw A Bird Day (held every year on April 8th) – it was my first time ever participating, and you know that of course my offering would be a tangled one!

I thought I’d try something a little more structured than usual with the next piece, and was very pleased with the end result. I haven’t digitized it yet, but once that’s done I’m thinking that I might turn it into customizable greeting cards in one of my online shops. What do you think?

And finally, a little piece you might have seen in yesterday’s post:

I’m afraid that I didn’t have time to tackle any of The Diva’s Challenges this past month, but I’m hoping to get back into them next week.

And that’s about it… hope you enjoyed catching up with me, and see you again next Tuesday!
