Tangled Tuesday No. 40

Welcome to another Tangled Tuesday – glad to see you again! I’m feeling a whole lot better than I was last time when I decided to take a bit of a break, and I’ve been doing some tangling here and there over the past couple of weeks, so let’s get on with it!

Blast from the Past

First, though, please indulge me as I share a couple of little non-tangling (but still art)-related somethings I unearthed from the basement when I rediscovered my old scrapbooks – two pencil sketches I did during a drawing class I took waaaaaay back in 1986 (anyone remember 1986?!).

They’re pretty elementary – plus the fact that the drawings on the other sides of the pages are bleeding through makes them rather rough – but seeing them reminds me of the fun I had with the class, and makes me want to take another one to learn some more!

New Tangles

Over the past two weeks I learned just a small handful of new tangles: Neit-Lite, Chuchu, Boze, Arcodos, Arcotres, and Arcocuatro, all from TanglePatterns.com.

Tangling in Progress

I actually have several small pieces in progress right now – one that’s almost done and will most likely be ready to share next week, and a couple that I started but for whatever reason didn’t get very far with. (One of these days I’m going to have to take all these barely-started pieces and actually do something with them!)

Finished Projects

In my previous Tangled Tuesday post I shared a picture of a work in progress zendala, which I have since finished.

What does it make you think of? I’m curious if anyone else will see the same sort of thing I see in the end result (which was, as per usual, totally unplanned!).

I also did The Diva’s Challenge for last week, which was to create a “Valentangle” to get into the spirit of Valentine’s Day. I came up with this one, which I then mounted on a larger rough-edged sheet of black sketch paper (folded in half) and turned it into a Valentine’s Day card for Peter.

Instead of using a regular pencil to do the shading, I used a light pink coloured pencil. I think it worked, and he says he likes it, so I’m happy. 🙂
