Tangled Tuesday No. 38

This has been a good and productive week in my little corner of the Zentangle® world! Not only did I learn some new tangles and participate in The Diva’s Challenge, but I also (for the first time in awhile!) picked up my pens and enjoyed several hours of just-for-fun-and-relaxation tangling. It may be premature to say that the creativity slump has passed, but it’s definitely a happy Tangled Tuesday!

New Tangles

This week I learned Sutygal, Boo*Kee, Tips, Me Three, and Jumu, all from TanglePatterns.com.

I also learned Chebucto (from Enthusiastic Artist) and Copada (also from Enthusiastic Artist, and on TanglePatterns.com) so that I could participate in The Diva’s Challenge this week.

Tangling in Progress

It was a little difficult to move past the slump and get on with tangling again, but I’m very glad I pushed myself to do so… because it felt SO GOOD to get back at it!

I thought I might be able to finish the piece I was working on prior to sharing this week’s Tangled Tuesday post, but it was not to be – so here’s a look at a work-in-progress photo to give you an idea of how it’s going.

I’ve added a few more designs since this photo was taken, but I’ll wait until the whole piece is complete before sharing another picture. Maybe next Tuesday? Here’s hoping!

Finished Projects

The Diva’s Challenge this week was to create a DuoTangle using ONLY the two tangles given, which both happened to be border-style patterns (Chebucto and Copada). It was definitely a bit of a puzzle to put the two of them together, and I wasn’t entirely sure at the start where I wanted to go with my tile, but in the end I was actually quite pleased with how the design turned out.

We’re well past the holidays, but this tile reminds me of an antique Christmas tree ornament resting on its side. That was totally unintentional, which is one of the things I love about tangling – you’re never really sure where you’re going to end up!
