Tangled Tuesday No. 28 + 100 Happy Days – Day 60

Today’s happiness is brought to you by a long-awaited, tangling-related, makes-me-elated milestone: Ten Thousand Tangles now – finally – includes a Zenletter Collection featuring my tangled alphabet series!

100 Happy Days - Day 60

100 Happy Days – Day 60

Yay! It’s been a long time coming, has it not?! I started with “A” back in May, and only just wrapped up “Z” a couple of weeks ago, at which point I set to work on converting the drawings to digital files and creating products. I’m so very pleased to have reached this stage of the game, and really proud of myself (if I might say so!) for sticking it out and finishing the project.

Definitely happy-making!

Oh, and before I move on to this week’s Tangled Tuesday post, I just want to make a quick comment about the current selection of products on Ten Thousand Tangles. While there are a few items available for each letter of the alphabet, the Zenletter Collection is a little sparse at the moment. Thing is, creating products takes time anyway, but when you have to repeat the process again and again in order to cover all 26 letters of the alphabet, I’m sure you can imagine the commitment involved! Never fear, however – I will be adding more products every day (plus would be totally open to special requests, if you’d like something in particular!), so please keep checking back periodically to see what’s new.

Now, on to your regularly-scheduled Tangled Tuesday!

Tangling Goodies

Did you know that a popular Zentangle®1 challenge is posted each week on a blog called I am the diva? It’s been going on for quite some time now (the current challenge is #193!), and though I’ve seen various individuals’ interpretations of the challenge shared in Facebook tangling groups, on Instagram, and so on, I myself have never participated (probably because I was far too busy tangling the alphabet to think of anything else!).

Now that my huge project is complete, though, I finally decided to check it out – and discovered that the challenge is posted each Monday. Rather convenient for me, since it’s my day off, so going forward I’ll aim to participate each week and share the results in the next day’s Tangled Tuesday post.

I’m looking forward to it! And hey… if you’re a fellow tangler and decide to get involved in the challenge yourself, please link me to your photo or post – I’d love to see it!

New Tangles

This week I learned Minline, Holly, Steps, Jingles, Leaflet, Holiday Ornaments, YNY, Reflections, Whirlee, Fassett, Skwirl, and Puf, all from TanglePatterns.com.

I also learned Trio from Zenjoy so that I could take part in The Diva’s Weekly Challenge.

Tangling-in-Progress

I have several Christmas-related ideas swirling around in my brain (as you might be able to tell from some of the tangles I chose to learn this week). We’ll have to see what comes of them!

Finished Projects

Most of my tangling time this week was spent over on Ten Thousand Tangles, but I am grateful to have been able to participate for the first time in The Diva’s Challenge. Here’s the description from the blog of this week’s challenge

Tomorrow is Veteran’s Day in the United States, and Thanksgiving is just a couple of weeks away. In the spirit of gratitude and celebration of both of these events I would like to issue a challenge of THX (thanks). This week’s challenge is a TriTangle… using the patterns of:

Trio
Huggins
Xyp

Though I am not in the US, this challenge was still meaningful for me in Canada, as today is Remembrance Day and this year’s observation is particularly poignant. As I tangled my way through the tile I thought of Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent and Corporal Nathan Cirillo, both of whom were killed in recent attacks right here in our own country, and prayed for the loved ones they left behind.

Here’s my own offering for the challenge.
