Tangled Tuesday No. 23 + 100 Happy Days – Day 25

Today’s happiness is brought to you by a packed suitcase, which means that very soon I’m off to the airport and on my way to visit family and friends in Victoria. I’m so excited to see everyone – some of them for the first time in almost three years!

But first, an update on my week of tangling in a quick Tangled Tuesday post!

New Tangles

This week I got started with AlphaTangle: A Truly Tangled Alphabet by Sandy Steen Bartholomew, and learned Avreal, Ambler, BB, Cyme, Drupe, Emingle, Hibred, Hurry, and Ibex.

As I’ve mentioned before, there is often overlap and some repetition between the various Zentangle®1 books, and this one is no exception, so several of its designs are ones that I’ve already added to my repertoire. Plus, the book is made up of finished and labelled tangle examples rather than specific instructions. I’ve managed to piece together instructions for a number of the designs from both TanglePatterns.com and the author’s Tangle Library iPhone app (more about that in this post), but there are several that I’ve had no luck finding – quite possibly because they are “official” Zentangle designs which are only taught at the workshops and not available online. (Guess I’ll just have to get myself to the workshop to learn them!)

Oh, and I also learned Amphora from TanglePatterns.com (it’s a pretty one!).

Tangling-in-Progress

I’m currently working on… wait for it… the letter Z in my tangled alphabet series, which means that I AM ALMOST DONE! Sorry for shouting, but I’ve been working on this “little” project since May and am MORE than ready to move on to something new! The very first thing on my agenda when I return from my trip (even before unpacking!) is to wrap up Z and take all 26 originals in to the print shop to be scanned.

Finished Projects

This week I managed to finish both X and Y, in between packing and running errands, and I’m quite happy with how they turned out (so all you Xaviers and Yolandas out there, I hope you’re ready to buy your monogrammed mugs and T-shirts!).

Coming Soon

I’m going to put all of my tangling goals on the back burner for a bit, since I’ll be traveling and unlikely to have much (if any) time to tangle over the next while. I’ll pick them up again just as soon as I get back, though (see above)!

P.S.

Previous posts in this series are all tagged Tangled Tuesday.
