Tangled T-Day No. 6

This has been a very busy week for me, full of tangling, teaching, training, and learning a new and ever-so-beautiful watercolour technique – so I have lots to report in a most colourful Tangled T-Day update. Hope you enjoy!

Walkerville Artists’ Co-op

This past week I did my first shift at Walkerville Artists’ Co-op, where I was trained in the procedures by a fellow co-op member. I absolutely loved spending my Sunday afternoon in such a bright, cheerful, inspiring space, and my four hours simply flew by! I am so very fortunate to be a part of this group, and am eager to see what the coming days will bring.

I was able to do a trial run of the wonderful new tech equipment I talked about in an earlier post, as I taught a “Beyond Basics: Tanglenhancers” class to a small group of students on Saturday. I was thankful for the opportunity to use my projector and document camera for the first time with people I already knew, and, apart from my laptop randomly deciding to reboot itself in the middle of class, I think it all went rather well! I’m so thrilled with the way this equipment is going to revolutionize my teaching approach, and look forward to many more chances to put it to good use.

Here are the beautiful tiles from the Tanglenhancers class.

Now that I’m a member of the WAC and have access to the facility after hours, I’ve scheduled two additional “Introduction to Zentangle” classes to be held in March and April on the main floor of the gallery. I’ve already had quite a bit of interest in the sessions, and am looking forward to sharing the Zentangle Method in such a beautiful space.

New Tangles

Since my previous Tangled T-Day post I have learned the following new-to-me tangles.

WIP

This ZIA is on a 12″ x 12″ sheet of watercolour paper, and I believe it is the largest piece I’ve worked on to date. Pretty sure it’s going to take quite a bit of time to finish, but I’m having fun with it!

Finished Projects

While I was able to get a number of my finished pieces framed and installed in my portion of the WAC gallery, I have room for more in my space and would really like to expand my offerings. With that in mind, I decided to start a new “ZIACard” series – that is, Zentangle-inspired art cards in two different sizes which I’ll offer for sale to interested customers. I’ve been having great fun creating them, and am hoping to have a nice selection available within the next couple of weeks.

Here’s the start of the series.
