My selection for today’s Photo Friday challenge prompt of “Warm Light” was taken a few years ago when I experimented with setting up a small herb garden in an upstairs window and growing oregano, sweet basil, parsley, and thyme from seed.

There’s now a chill in the air and winter is fast approaching, but looking at this picture reminds me of the warm sunlight streaming in and helping my little plants to grow and thrive.
Perhaps if I didn’t live with four rambunctious and curious furry beasts these days who absolutely WOULD terrorize the seedlings, I might think about revisiting my little project again in the spring. For now, though, I guess I’ll just have to rely on the memories from the photo, play with my sweet cats (or in this case, watch them watch a bird taunting them from the other side of the window in the warm morning light), and buy fresh herbs at the grocery store.
