Today’s Photo Friday challenge word is “Stillness” – and what better choice of picture than one taken on beautiful, peaceful, and still Peche Island, which Peter and I visited for the first (and only) time back in September, 2013.
(If you’d like to see more of my photos of this lovely place, as well as read a recap of our experience, please check out my Peche Island Day 2013 post.)
Unfortunately we missed the once-a-year opportunity to visit the island again this past fall, as Peter’s pre-surgery hip pains held us back from taking part in so many of these kinds of events. Now that he’s had the operation and is well on the way to recovery, however, I hope we’ll be able to get there for Peche Island Day this year!
What says “stillness” to you?
Please share!

What a beautiful photo, and such a lovely place. This says “serenity” to be as well as “stillness.”

It most definitely is a very serene place. There’s a part of me that wishes those of us without boats could visit more than just the one day of the year, but I guess then it wouldn’t be quite such a peaceful location!

Beautiful image. Nature has quite a soothing way about herself. In hypnosis, nature often shows up when a place of quiet and peace is sought. Thanks for sharing.

What a beautiful canal and bridge. My soul is drawn to the water. I can absolutely feel myself sitting there reading or napping or just enjoying God’s creation for the afternoon!

Not a water sign by birth, but nothing that calls out to be more than water bodies!! Beautiful picture 🙂

Beautiful photograph. It’s always funny to think of water as still but even at the beach I feel the stillness between the waves and in the air. I think I encountered perfect stillness at Arches National Monument – no breeze and the glory of towering rock forms created both stillness and spaciousness like no place else I have visited.

The wonderful photo shows an image of stillness, but beneath the surface, so much life flows. Stillness for me is meditating, but my brain’s working and I’m breathing. I guess nothing that’s alive is really still.

Very true – I think stillness is more about a sense or feeling rather than a literal state of being.
