Photo Friday: Moving

Well, after writing and sharing 30 poems over the past 30 days for NaPoWriMo, I must say that it feels a bit odd to NOT be posting one today! On the other hand, it’s kind of nice to be easing back into my regular writing and blogging schedule again – rather like putting on a familiar and favourite piece of comfy clothing.

So without further ado, let’s get back to a proper Photo Friday post!

The photo I chose for today’s challenge prompt of “Moving” is deceptive – it looks very calm and still, but I can only imagine just how fast we were really moving! I took this one while flying back home from Victoria last fall, and was quite pleased with how it turned out.

And, in non-Photo Friday-but-still-photo-taking-related news, this month’s NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month) theme is “Photo” – so in addition to their usual Monday to Friday writing prompts, there are also daily photo prompts, as follows:

What fun! I’m going to take a shot at doing all of the daily NaBloPoMo photo prompts, and might possibly tackle some of the writing prompts as well. I’ll share my photos on Instagram and Flickr first, with a recap now and then (in between my regular features) here on Alphabet Salad.

Kicking things off, today’s NaBloPoMo prompt question is, “Do you like taking selfies? Why or why not?” and the photo prompt is “You.”

I suppose I’m getting better at the whole selfie thing, but can’t say I actually like taking them – mainly because I have to work really hard and take so many shots just to get one that doesn’t look awful to me! Not a whole lot of fun – I’d much rather take pictures of my cats (who are really quite outstandingly photogenic!).

Anyway, here’s today’s selfie effort.

Now, after a wonderful evening with friends (not to mention an absolutely divine feed of sushi), I am off. Happy Friday!

Got any exciting plans for the weekend?
Please share!
