Photo Friday: Mountain

Several years ago – way back in the winter of 2009, to be exact – Peter and I traveled on Via Rail from Vancouver, BC to Jasper, Alberta, where we spent a few days that included Christmas at the beautiful Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge.

The story of the vacation itself is a tale for another post – but as it turns out, a photo I took from the window of our train as we wound our way through the Rocky Mountains is one of the very few from my archives suitable for today’s Photo Friday “Mountain” challenge prompt.

If you ever have the chance to take that particular train trip, DO IT. I’m not kidding – this amateur picture doesn’t even begin to do justice to the breathtaking scenery you will encounter. If I had it to do all over again, I think I would have staked a claim upstairs in the observation car and done nothing but snap photos throughout the entire trip!

Who knows? Maybe I’ll have a chance some day.

Have you traveled through the mountains?
Please share!
