Photo Friday: Green
by Laurel Storey
on June 27, 2014
The other day while my houseguests and I were touring the neighbourhood, we spent some time taking photos of a gorgeous ivy-covered landmark – the old Walker Power Plant – not far from my house. When I saw today’s Photo Friday prompt – “Green” – I knew right away which picture I wanted to highlight! I think it’s wonderful the way nature has taken over and made something beautiful from a dilapidated ruin.

I’ve always loved the look of an ivy covered home…until I lived somewhere that didn’t get enough rain and had to be worried about fires…arg…it’s such a beautiful look (thanks for the moment to day dream about what could be)!

Our home is in the midst of being covered with ivy – and I can’t wait until it’s complete! Takes awhile, but it’s worth it. Thanks for stopping by! 🙂

I hope so too! I’ll have to remember to post a photo in the fall, as it’s equally gorgeous in red.
