On headaches, and thankfulness, and things that matter

Since much of my day has been spent fighting off a rather queasy-making headache (and possibly a cold as well, but I’m hoping that’s not actually the case), I am going to do something so rare, so unheard-of, so out of character, that some of you may be shocked. Brace yourself…

I am going to turn off my computer for the evening.

I know, I know, it’s hard to believe. But now that my workday is done and my head is still aching, I find myself with little desire to either continue gazing at a glaring computer screen or to attempt any level of concentration on the words I’m reading. Trust me, I will enjoy my bloggy friends’ wonderful (and prolific) posts much more when I can give them my undivided attention.

As for tonight, I think I’ll have some dinner (thank goodness for a wonderful husband who does all the cooking), watch the newest episode of The Big Bang Theory (thank goodness for laughter), then go to bed with my book club book The Giver by Lois Lowry (thank goodness for my non-glarey Kindle).

But before I sign off for the evening, I want to share something with you that totally made my day, headache and all.

Words matter. Taking time to encourage other writers matters. Kindness matters.

See you tomorrow. 🙂
