P is for… Procrastination
~ by Laurel Regan
what must it feel like
to be someone
who
faithfully tackles
life’s mundane tasks
promptly
diligently
responsibly
making hay while the sun shines
instead of
postponing, ignoring
pushing yet another annoying burden
out of the way
onto a crowded back burner
easily distracted by shiny things
and the prospect of something
(anything, really)
more fun
more interesting
not absolutely required
i’d love to investigate
but right now i’m stuck inside
on a sunny spring weekend
last-minute, eleventh hour
in the company of
an assortment of income tax forms
and a bulging cardboard box
full to messy overflowing
with
unsorted
unfiled
unorganized
potential deductions
if i ever find out
i’ll let you know

It seems your blog post today made it in the 11th hour too! 😉 No wonder though with income tax time! 😉 <3

I used to do my income tax as soon as I possibly could, but have been pushing it until the last minute over the past few years. Silly, really!

The 11th hour poem. But it was fun reading. I am not going to procrastinate.

Oh my, I can SO unfortunately relate to the problem of procrastination – it has plagued me for most of my life! Really endeavoring to make 2015 the year I gain some significant ground to pull down this stronghold!

It’s funny, because I’m not like that at ALL when it comes to my job – just my personal life. Need to change that!

Oh yeah, procrastination seems to be constant companion. After all, there is always tomorrow!

Haha. Well done. You’ve captured the feeling of procrastination so well. I veer between the two opposites. I’m dilegent … mostly … until I procrastinate.

I’m great when it comes to my job – it’s only in my personal life that procrastination is an issue.

I wish I was more like that! At least I’m not a procrastinator when it comes to my paying job. 🙂

Oh, my I could relate to your poem. I love to procrastinate and seem to live in deadline mode. When I feel the pressure of a deadline is the only time I seem to get things finished. Otherwise I pick at stuff and flit from one thing to another, looking at Facebook in between of course. It’s the best for procrastinating! UGH! Taxes! Don’t blame you for procrastinating on that. Blek!

I think the taxes would be a WHOLE lot easier if I’d only done my filing over the last *ahem* three years. *blush*
