G is for… Gaping
~ by Laurel Regan
the words played coy today
refused to be corralled
skittered off to hide in dimly-lit corners
darted out teasingly, then retreated, giggling
leaving little more than a
vast
cavernous
gaping
maddening
emptiness
in place of what could have been
(should have been)
brilliant thoughts
pithy observations
wise reflections
perhaps they’ll behave tomorrow.

This is clever and cute. Even when you think the muse has gone on vacation, you still whip up something like this. What fun!

I actually ended up rather pleased with it, even after a day of word-seeking frustration!

Only the A-z, but I am writing a post and a poem a day, so not so different! I don’t have to worry about form, but I do have to do a lot of research! ~Liz http://www.lizbrownleepoet.com
