Inspired by Gratitude II
~ by Laurel Regan
for chuckles, giggles, titters
punctuating the air like ethereal streams of
rainbow-sheened soap bubbles
for cackles, chortles, guffaws
shattering restraint and composure
saturating the air with dimension and shape
for face-splitting
eyes-watering
sides-aching
silently-shaking
eruptions of uncontrollable mirth
for laughter in all its forms
for the ones who make it happen
for the ones who share the joy
thank you

Now it’s your turn!

Laurel, what a lovely and evocative poem about what makes us laugh! You’re right on the same theme I am today–laughter literally increases your strength, wellness, and vitality (http://wp.me/pw4HM-oc) via increase of the master hormone, DHEA. Some kind of synchrony going on here, and I love it. Thanks for a lovely poem. May I quote it sometime in an article?

Love the positive gratitude poem. This sounds like NaPoWriMo challenge seems very interesting. It is important to focus on the positive things in life versus the opposite.

“rainbow-sheened” and “uncontrollable mirth” – just two of the phrases and some of the words I loved in this poem! It gave the work such life.
Glad I found you through the A to Z Challenge!
