My first column!

(Note: This post was written by Laurel Regan and originally published in a separate blog called “Why Windsor…”, which was later merged with Alphabet Salad.)

I‘m pleased to announce that my first column has now been posted in the Windsor Square:

So, I’m here. Now what?

I also want to take a minute to thank the editorial team at The Square for inviting me to join them. I’m really looking forward to being a part of what they’re doing here in Windsor!

If they would just get out and look they may be amazed

Can’t help but comment. Don’t know your relationship with these square fellows but you write “I’m really looking forward to being a part of what they’re doing here in Windsor!”

But have you really asked what are they doing here in Windsor? All I see is a bloggy type thingy that has one story repeated over and over again that says. “Mayor and council bad, Bridge Company good” . No matter what the topic of the day, it simply serves to support the man I call the uniblogger’s premise which has infected all its writers. (As an aside, blaming the mayor for every problem negates every citizen’s responsibility to actually contribute to fixing those same problems)

You have Mr. Schnurr, I guy who I think is an misguided but excellent blogger (regardless of his opinion of myself) surrounding himself by an intellectual terrorist associated with the bridge and a couple of guys (Tuomi and Paulson) that simply spout venom against a mayor and council they despise to a ridiculous extreme. Its simply a hatefest of negativity which seems to contradict the very premise of your blog.

Good luck, wish you well. For all I know you’re somehow a relation of the people I may have offended above, but as in the frog and the scorpion story, its my nature to engage, and your first post was very nice.

Hi Mark – thanks for taking the time to comment. I always appreciate engagement and input! 🙂

What I like about what’s on offer at The Square is an alternative to traditional news sources and sanitized opinions. As for the opinions presented on The Square (and, for that matter, the manner in which they’re expressed) – I can’t say I’ve been here long enough (nor have I had the time!) to dig into the issues and form my own opinions, but part of the goal of my new column is to do just that. I’m no relation to anyone on The Square… and rest assured, I have my own voice and my own style of expression that is consistent regardless of venue!

Thank you for your good wishes and kind words about my first column… I hope you’ll continue to read them in future. 🙂

Welcome to Windsor, as the greek proverb goes, listen to everyone and decide for yourself. Will definitely read on.

Ahhh, so now I am misguided, which in the converse means if I listened to Mr. Boscariol, I would be “guided”. In all other cases it seems, I’m easily controlled and manipulated – an offensive and ignorant assumption, as Mr. Boscariol should well know having been a recipient of a Cease and Desist letter authored under legal advice for which I paid. Of course, nothing would please Mr. Boscariol more, than for me to leave the Windsor Square – an action if taken – would support his three year crusade against anyone providing an alternative viewpoint other than his own. In an almost fantantical obsession, Mr. Boscariol has used several tactics in an attempt realise his personal agenda. While he condemns (as is his wont) the Windsor Square, he overlooks the very real fact through his own politicking fueled by his personal agenda of hate against one particular individual, he destroyed what promised to be an informative and progressive website called Scaledown Windsor. It’s ironic, he attempts to negate what he perceives to be negativity through a variety of tactics, but seems to have destroyed that which he supposedly promotes.
