#MicroblogMondays 23 – Snow Day!

Our city got dumped on yesterday and throughout the night – not quite a record breaking snowfall, apparently, but I’m pretty sure it’s more than we’ve seen at one time since we moved to Windsor (and this is our fourth winter here). Plus there was quite a wind, so the drifts are incredibly high in places. Schools, universities, public libraries, and all sorts of other places are closed today, so it truly is a snow day!

It’s so pretty outside – especially since the sun is shining and the skies are a bright blue – which is a really good thing, as it was a TON of work to clear our path and the sidewalk in front of our house, and we needed all of the encouragement we could get! We only have one snow shovel, so Peter and I spelled each other off, with one of us shoveling and the other resting in between… which is another really good thing, as I doubt either of us could have finished the job on our own.

We still haven’t shoveled the back path from the house to the garage (which is thigh-high in some places), or checked to see if we can even get the car out of the garage and into the laneway, so our travel might be a little hampered for the next few days!

I didn’t take my camera outside to get photos, but here’s one from the front window (post-shoveling) so you can get a bit of an idea as to how much snow we have.

Snow Day!

Snow Day!

Normally after a shoveling session my muscles don’t start aching until the next day… but this time, my arms and shoulders were tightening up almost as soon as I got back into the house.

Here’s hoping I can move tomorrow!
