#MicroblogMondays 122 – My first creative love

A whole bunch of fun, good, interesting, varied, and generally wonderful stuff kept me busy this past year – so busy that my poor blog was sadly neglected, especially when it came to writing anything of substance. One of my aims for 2017 is to remedy this – starting now! – and head down the path back to my first creative love.

No, I’m not planning to return to the daily posting that I maintained for several years (quite frankly, the thought of that exhausts me!) – and I have no intention of dropping my other creative pursuits – but I do aim to dedicate more of my time in 2017 to writing and sharing HERE rather than just on Facebook or other social platforms.

One of the ways I’m planning to do this is to get back into the #MicroblogMondays habit: One post each week; at least one sentence long. (If you’d like to learn more, and perhaps even join me, here are the details: #MicroblogMondays 121: Post in Your Own Space.)

To kick off my goal, it seems appropriate that I share a photo of part of my 50th birthday present from my lovely sister. (Yes, yes, I opened it a week early – the curiosity of what could possibly be inside such a large, tremendously heavy and unwieldy box was absolutely killing me!)

If you’re new to Alphabet Salad, I invite you to read my “Why the typewriters?” post explaining the meaning behind this particular icon, and you’ll understand why I was absolutely thrilled to receive such a thoughtful and completely unexpected gift.

The timing and symbolism couldn’t be more perfect. So on to a new year of more writing!

Do you have any writing goals for 2017?
Please share!
