Let’s Party!

I haven’t tackled any of the writing prompts for this month’s NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month) challenge theme of Connect recently – but since today’s is a rather fun one, I thought it would be a good opportunity to jump back in. Let’s party!

Tell us what makes a party or event successful in your opinion.

I think there are all sorts of elements that can go into making a gathering a success, depending on the occasion, such as…

  • yummy food and drink
  • fun activities
  • good music

…and so on and so forth.

But the one consistent factor – and, in my opinion, the biggest and most important one – in what makes a party or event successful is…

Drumroll, please!

…the people who attend.

Seriously! Whether the event is planned or spontaneous, held indoors or out, for having fun or all about business, I want the people who share it with me to be friendly, approachable, and welcoming. The food and drinks might be bad (or nonexistent!), the activities boring, and the music not to my taste – but if I make even one meaningful connection with someone else who was part of the event (and yes, having fun together can be meaningful!), I’d consider the event a success.

What do you think?

Celebrate!

What makes a party or event successful?
Please share!
