Language Lessons, Part 2

NaBloPoMo November 2012 Prompt
Tuesday, November 27, 2012:

If you could instantly know any language in the world, which one would it be?

My first instinct is to say either French or Italian, since I’ve already got a head-start on both.

BUT

Since I do have a head-start on both, and enjoy the actual process of learning them, I suppose I should choose something different.

With that in mind, I think I would probably pick either American Sign Language or Japanese. Both languages are completely foreign to me, both would likely be incredibly difficult to learn on my own, and both would be very useful skills to have – so instantaneous knowledge sounds rather appealing!

Which language would you choose?
