If you had to switch your first name, what name would you choose and why?
Well, this one’s an easy question for me to answer… because in a way, I’ve already been there and done that, when I used my middle name Dawn – or some version of it – for just about everything I did online.
And then I decided to stop doing so.
I am lucky – I like my first name, I like my middle name, and I like the combination of the two! I chose to use my middle name as my online first name because I felt comfortable with it. These days, though, I’m very happy sticking with my actual first name – Laurel – both in person and online.
Inspired by NaBloPoMo writing prompt for Wednesday, November 6, 2013:

I would pick Sioux or Sault 🙂

I have several friends named Dawn — nice name. I like the name Dawn because it’s like a new beginning each day.

I’ve always liked my first name interestingly enough. Well, the shortened version of it anyway. I dislike the name Kimberly for myself because it feels stuffy and formal. Being that I am more informal and straight to the point, Kim suits me perfectly. My middle name is Ann and I’ve always liked that as well because, like my first name, it’s simple and to the point.

It’s interesting, isn’t it, how our names tend to suit us… or how we grow to suit our names?
