This little piece of news is unlikely to be of particular excitement to anyone other than yours truly, but please bear with me while I do a celebratory happy dance around the room, because…
I am going to BlogHer ’12!
I reserved my conference ticket yesterday, I’ve found a lovely roomie to share hotel costs, and my Inbox has already been the recipient of deal alerts from various airlines and travel booking sites.
I am going to New York City!
This whole development is thrilling to me on several different levels.
- The conference will be an amazing opportunity to spend two full days learning about how to be a better blogger, all the while surrounded by women (and a few men) with similar blogging goals, shared enthusiasm, and a wealth of experience and know-how.
- I actually get to meet some of my favourite bloggers in person!
- In addition to the bloggers with whom I’m already acquainted online, I have a chance to meet several new friends and contacts.
- This year’s conference is in New York City! I’ve only visited once before, but even my short stay 20-some years ago was enough to show me that it’s one of the most wonderful cities ever, and I’ve been dying to get back there ever since.
As you can probably tell, I’m unbelievably excited to be able to attend this year’s conference, and hope to see some of you there!

I just “discovered” the BlogHer site (is it the same thing?) a couple of weeks ago, and I’m thinking about becoming involved there too.

How exciting! It is my goal in 2013 to get to a blogging conference. I’m not sure which one but I’m determined even if it is just a 1 dayer at Bloggy Boot Camp.

I’ve heard it is great for new and old bloggers! It’s a 1 day conference that travels around the country. I’m hoping next year it comes to a city close to me.

So far the flight info I’ve received has been GREAT, but… only for travel up to June! Hopefully a little closer to the time I’ll start getting the good stuff that covers August.
