Daily blogging with NaBloPoMo – let’s do this again!

Here’s a wee bit of trivia for you from my little corner of the blogging world – a significant detail in the pattern of my digital footprint, if you will (of which I am, admittedly, rather proud!):

I posted in my blog every single day in 2012.

Yep. Every single day!

workfromhomeOh, they weren’t all gems (though a handful may have sparkled a little). Some were more photos than words, some were reposts of writing I’d done elsewhere, and some were of the “I got nothing” variety. But still, every month I made a commitment to post something every day (staying on track by signing up for NaBloPoMo – National Blog Posting Month – on BlogHer)… and I did it!

Through NaBloPoMo I developed discipline, improved the quality of my writing, and met several friends (including my lovely roomie at both BlogHer ’12 and BlogHer ’13, Sabrina of Much Needed Advice). Though I never dreamed when I signed up for NaBloPoMo in January of 2012 that I’d end up committing again and again each month for the rest of the year, I am so very glad and grateful that developing a daily writing practice was such a huge a part of my blogging life in 2012.

But then 2013 came, and I got tired.

And my blog languished.

I still posted sporadically, but really must have needed a break after my 365 day NaBloPoMo marathon, because for the first few months of 2013 days (and sometimes weeks) would pass between entries.

And then I started to fall in love with my blog again.

And now… now I am ready to commit once more to a daily writing practice – at least for the month of October (and we’ll see where I go from there!).

NaBloPoMo October 2013

The NaBloPoMo October prompts – each one in the theme of “Fall” – intrigue me! While I may not stick completely to the list (depending on what I feel like writing each day), I do plan to tackle some of the topics throughout the month. (That’s the beauty of NaBloPoMo – structure if and when you want it, freedom when you need it, and a great community for sharing and support. All you have to do is to post daily in your blog.)

I’ll be signing up just as soon as the NaBloPoMo October 2013 Blogroll is ready… and I’m excited to see what my month of daily blogging brings!
