I’m tangling from A to Z – M is for…
…Mak-rah-mee
…Mi² (Me Too)
…Mumsy
(Pssst… new here? Welcome to Alphabet Salad! For some background on how and why I got involved in the Blogging from A to Z Challenge, check out this post… and, if you’d like to catch up on my progress to date, all of my challenge posts are tagged with Tangling from A to Z. Glad you stopped by, and hope you’ll return!)
Tangle Practice
Today’s finished tangle is truly tangle-y! And I think I love it. “Mak-rah-mee” and “Mi2” are two patterns that I will definitely revisit in the future.

Tangle Practice – Mak-rah-mee

Tangle Practice – Mi² (Me Too)

Tangle Practice – Mumsy
Border & String
Just to carry on with the whole A to Z theme, I thought I’d make each day’s “string” resemble the appropriate letter for the day. I can’t always promise that the finished tiles will look anything like the letters – it all depends on which tangles I’m using and how the drawing evolves. We’ll just have to see what happens!
Finished Zentangle®1 Tile

Finished “M” tile incorporating Mak-rah-mee, Mi² (Me Too), and Mumsy

Here’s a link to a post I wrote about tangling:
http://www.alphabetsalad.com/for-the-love-of-tangling/
This post includes links to the Zentangle web site with some instructional videos, and also to a book I strongly recommend as a great starting place if you’d like to learn how to tangle.
The time it takes just depends on the design – today’s was more complex, so it probably took me about and hour and a half to do the finished tile, but the simpler ones can be completed in around 20 minutes.
I hope this helps! 🙂

Oh, this is gorgeous. Those first two look really hard! It’s wonderful how you’re challenging yourself with these!

Thank you, Elaine! They were actually fairly straightforward to learn, but because of the detail a little more time-consuming than some. But the end result is very satisfying, so it’s worth it!
