I’m tangling from A to Z – L is for…
Lanie
Lantern-Pho
LinQ

(Pssst… new here? Welcome to Alphabet Salad! For some background on how and why I got involved in the Blogging from A to Z Challenge, check out this post… and, if you’d like to catch up on my progress to date, all of my challenge posts are tagged with Tangling from A to Z. Glad you stopped by, and hope you’ll return!)

Tangle Practice

I had errands to run on my day off, plus I was excited about getting to do my own initial (silly, I know!), so I decided to “cheat” and do my tangle session in the wee hours of Monday – before I went to bed – instead of waiting until I got up in the morning. I figured that would leave my day clear for errands and I wouldn’t feel like I had to rush through my tangles.

Big mistake, apparently!

Big mistake, and my poor tangle sample sketchbook paid the price. I messed up on “Lanie” (despite the fact that it is actually a very easy tangle), mostly because I wasn’t concentrating properly, and had to cover it up with a second try. Then I struggled through “Lantern-Pho” (which my brain did NOT want to process), and had to cover IT up with my FOURTH try! I had a little better luck with “LinQ” but by then my confidence was pretty much shot, so it was a rather shallow victory.

Lesson learned!

Oh, well – at least I was happy with the starting string (writing all those Ls throughout my life must have paid off!), even if it did become lost in the finished tile.

Border & String

Just to carry on with the whole A to Z theme, I thought I’d make each day’s “string” resemble the appropriate letter for the day. I can’t always promise that the finished tiles will look anything like the letters – it all depends on which tangles I’m using and how the drawing evolves. We’ll just have to see what happens!
