I’m tangling from A to Z – F is for…
…Fancy Nancy
…Fanz
…Floatfest
(Pssst… new here? Welcome to Alphabet Salad! For some background on how and why I got involved in the Blogging from A to Z Challenge, check out this post… and, if you’d like to catch up on my progress to date, all of my challenge posts are tagged with Tangling from A to Z. Glad you stopped by, and hope you’ll return!)

Tangle Practice
I absolutely loved “Floatfest” and could have gone on drawing it for ages, yet struggled a lot with “Fanz” (even though it was supposed to be a fairly easy tangle). All in all, I can’t say I’m overly happy with today’s output. Perhaps giving my brain the day off was a mistake! Here’s hoping tomorrow will be better.

Border & String
Just to carry on with the whole A to Z theme, I thought I’d make each day’s “string” resemble the appropriate letter for the day. I can’t always promise that the finished tiles will look anything like the letters – it all depends on which tangles I’m using and how the drawing evolves. We’ll just have to see what happens!

That one was my favourite! I wish I could take credit for coming up with them, but I’m just learning them from others – all the tangles I’ve been doing are available on this site: http://tanglepatterns.com/

I love the idea of blogging A-Z. It sounds so creative and fun. Speaking of creative…I love your Zentangles too. I’m very familiar with them. My partner is an artist and has been desinging some zentangles of his own.

These are so much fun! At first glance, they look so complicated. Then, on closer inspection, you see the individual shapes that make up the whole. Sooo clever!

I think that’s part of why I love tangling so much – you can create a fairly complex design, but because the steps are all broken down for you it’s not as difficult as it looks. Such fun!

I think the Floatfest is fantastic. I think we are our own worst critics but I think these are great. Thanks for sharing.
