How blogging changed my life

Inspired by NaBloPoMo writing prompt for Monday, March 10, 2014*:

How has blogging changed your life? Tell us one thing that is different now than from before you started blogging.

(* Since Monday’s post is earmarked for Meatless Monday, I thought I’d borrow the March 10th prompt for today!)

How blogging changed my life

I’ve been writing – in some form or another, with varying degrees of consistency – for most of my life. So that’s nothing new.

I’ve even shared my writing – with friends face-to-face, in small specialized publications – on several occasions. Been there, done that.

But blogging changed my life in a way that just writing on its own could never have done.

Blogging broadened my horizons and introduced me to the world.

Blogging has…

…granted me membership to an amazing community of writers that spans the globe.

…made it possible for my writing to be read by anyone, anywhere.

…brought people from countries I only dream of visiting to my little online home.

…connected me with friends – individuals who, in some cases, became fast friends – who would otherwise have remained strangers.

Blogging has given me the world.
