Blogger Awards – Catching Up

Every now and then I receive a nudge from a fellow blogger letting me know that they have included me on a list of blogs they’ve nominated to receive a blogger award. It’s always a thrill to receive one of these nudges, and to know that my little blog has meant something to someone.

But I have a confession to make.

You know how sometimes things just fall between the cracks? Even when they’re important? Well, last year I received several blogger nominations within a few months of each other (back when I was still blogging as Dawn Storey). While at the time I was both excited and moved when I received each and every one of them, and fully intended to post links and fulfill the obligations of the various awards… for whatever reason, I didn’t.

And I am sorry.

This week a nomination for a brand new award reminded me of my negligence, so I thought I’d take this opportunity to remedy the situation by saying a belated (but no less grateful) THANK YOU! to my very kind (and ever so patient!) blogging friends.

Thank you to Kat at My View Through Kat Eyes
for nominating me for the Kreativ Blogger Award
in May, 2012.

Thank you to Denine Severino Taylor at words&music365
for nominating me for the One Lovely Blog Award
in June, 2012.

Thank you to Melanie Jean Juneau at The Joy of Mothering
for nominating me for the Fabulous Blog Ribbon
in July, 2012.

Fabulous Blog Ribbon

Thank you to Lorinda Taylor at Ruminations of a Remembrancer
for nominating me for the Versatile Blogger Award

(I believe I bookmarked everyone who had nominated me for an award in the past, but some of the links I saved are no longer working, so if I missed you please accept my apologies and heartfelt thanks.)

And now, to the one who reminded me to do this catching up, thank you to Life Breath Present, who just this week nominated me for the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award!

  8. Your favourite day of the week: Friday (everyone is happy on Friday!)

Oh wow! That is very cool for you, and I can’t believe you nominated me! That is such a compliment! Thank you. When my internet gets back up (tomorrow, I hope), I’ll fill out the questions and stuff! Wow! That made my night!

You’re very welcome (again) for the nomination of the Sisterhood of the World award and glad I could be helpful. We all need little nudges now and then, sometimes without even realizing it! 🙂

Thank you, Laurel! I must confess, I am in exactly the same situation – nominated for more than a couple awards last year that I never got around to reciprocating. *blushes* So I will try to do better this time! Am I supposed to answer the same questions as you have above?

    Again, thanks!

And…I, too, received an award last year that I didn’t act upon. THANK YOU, LAUREL! I love your responses. 🙂

10-12, huh? That’ll be easy now that I know the MLB’s.

Congratulations on so many awards…and yes we all need nudges from time to time 🙂

Also, loved your answer to #10!

Wow, thank you so much, Laurel! I’ve been so remiss at keeping up my blog lately that was a surprise and a great pleasure. But because my time hasn’t allowed me to keep up with the blogging world for quite a while, I’m ashamed to say that I’m not at this moment able to reciprocate and name 10 or 12 other blogs. (I would certainly return this award to you if that were possible, as I never miss reading yours.) I’ll have to catch up on my blog reading so I can share this with other bloggers. In the meantime, I’m grateful for your nomination and for the little nudge you’ve given me to get back to nourishing my little blog, which badly needs some love and light. A very happy holiday season to you and Peter!

Thank you, Laurel. I am waiting until next week to post my nomination. I have a gifting theme going on this week. Your gift to me will wrap it all up.

Oh boy. Laurel, thank you! I totally missed this until now, so it’s fitting that your post mentions being a bit behind the curve, too.

And thanks for putting Barenaked Ladies in my head. 🙂
