Archive 2004: Today’s purchase, and a good rosette!

Today I spent $7.99 on my new hobby… I bought the Better Homes and Gardens “Simply Creative Crochet” magazine. It’s so wonderful! Lots of good tips and resources, and a number of projects I’d like to try in the future when I’m a bit more experienced.

And, I managed to make a rosette the RIGHT way! I was pretty sure I’d done something wrong with yesterday’s rosettes (even though they looked ok), so between finding some instructions as to how to read patterns, and getting help from a couple of people, I did it! It’s so pretty, and actually looks like a rose (unlike the others, which were definitely floral, but distinctly non-rosy!). I’ll have to take pictures of all of them as soon as I can.
