Today found us enjoying first banjo then blues music (both live), eating strawberries and ice cream, trying funnel cake (first time ever) with strawberries and whipped cream, watching a magic show, browsing booths of random tchotchkes, talking and laughing and people-watching, entering a couple of contests, trying a pogo stick (first time freshly made at a carnival, not out of a box from the grocery store), absorbing some sun, being blown by the wind, and hugging a large strawberry, all at The LaSalle Strawberry Festival.
Another fun day together, another new experience as fledgling Windsorites!
Apart from my pogo stick, I didn’t see anyone selling anything that resembled corn at the festival, so I had to rely on my own imagination for today’s 30 Days of Creativity project.
June 3, 2012 prompt:
CORN – Do you like it on the cob or in pieces cut off neatly in a bowl?
(If you want to see this in all its imperfect waxy goodness, clicking on the photo will take you to the larger version on Flickr.)
In case you missed it, this is what I’m doing throughout the month of June, and why. I’ll be posting all of my projects to my 30 Days of Creativity 2012 board on Pinterest.

I can’t believe how creative you are with something most people would toss away. Great job!
Thank you so much, Becky! 🙂
Okay, I’m sold. I’m buying the little cheeses and planning to impress my friends with my wax artistry, though I’ll need to practice to get up to the bar you’ve set!
You’re a cheese-wax genius and that corn is truly impressive.
(Would you consider putting a penny or something like that in the pic to show your sculptures’ diminutive stature?)
Thank you so much! I actually can’t believe how much fun I’m having with this little project, LOL!
Very good point – I will definitely add a penny to future images to show proportion. In the meantime, here’s a pic of all three to date (I even managed to find a U.S. penny!):

I’m falling in love with your pieces of art, Dawn. They’re really good.
Thank you so much, Corinne. I am loving these tiny pieces of junk art!
Wonderful Art!! I always enjoyed The Strawberry Festival in Plant City, FL when I lived there–this conjured up some memories 🙂 Cheers, Jenn.
Thank you! The Strawberry Festival was fun. I love those kind of community events!
I was recently the audience to a heated debate between my daughter and her ex-boyfriend/current best friend about the differences between “fried dough” and “funnel cake.” It made me crave them both a little bit. And I’m ALWAYS in the mood for strawberries.
PS–You’re probably going to get sick of me saying how fantastic the little wax sculptures are, but that is one fantastic cob of corn. 😉
Just about anything fried is good, unfortunately! And strawberries are divine.
It’s funny, but I never seem to get sick of people saying nice things about stuff I’ve done! So thank you. 🙂
