30DOC, Day 18

A few weeks ago we were enjoying a barbecue at the home of some friends, and at the end of the meal a huge bowl of the most delicious fresh fruit salad was served. Included in the salad were big, juicy chunks of fresh pineapple, and I couldn’t seem to get enough of them. Ever since then I’ve been in love with fresh pineapple and have brought several whole ones into our house (though, admittedly, they don’t last very long!).

When I was chatting with my parents the other day, probably rambling about how much I loved fresh pineapple, Mom said that she’d like to see me create a wax sculpture of a pineapple. I looked for a 30 Days of Creativity prompt that would suit such a request, and behold, today’s fit the bill.

So here you go, Mom!

YELLOW – It’s our favorite color, but not when it’s snowing.

(If you want to see this in all its imperfect waxy goodness, clicking on the photo will take you to the larger version on Flickr.)

In case you missed it, this is what I’m doing throughout the month of June, and why. I’ll be posting all of my projects to my 30 Days of Creativity 2012 board on Pinterest.

Now, off to add “fresh pineapple” to the grocery list…
