Despite my love of and appreciation for gadgets and technology today, back in the 80s I was not the least bit “into” computer or video games. Strange but true! I’m not sure why, but for whatever reason this just wasn’t something that was ever a part of my life, nor a pastime that particularly appealed to me.
So as you can imagine, today’s 30 Days of Creativity prompt was a disappointment! Not wanting to break the streak of my response to the challenge, though, I muddled through with a rather uninspired copout of a project. What the heck – no one reads blogs on weekends anyway! 😉
June 10, 2012 prompt:
8 BIT – Nintendo, Sega, and Atari were the 8-bit video games of the 80s. Mario beats Angry Birds any day.
(If you want to see this in all its imperfect waxy goodness, clicking on the photo will take you to the larger version on Flickr.)
In case you missed it, this is what I’m doing throughout the month of June, and why. I’ll be posting all of my projects to my 30 Days of Creativity 2012 board on Pinterest.
Here’s to following through on commitments, even when uninspired!

I read blogs on weekends! This day’s theme would have defeated me had I not had a husband with an original Game Boy. Like you, I’ve never played games. Though I DO remember playing Pong on TV in the infancy of the technology. And I even played a DOS-based fantasy game at one of my jobs–with everyone’s OK–it was a “break” activity. But once games started getting technologically advanced, I lost interest. Now it’s just games at the table or simple iPhone games for me.
Stop putting your creations down! Your fans appreciate your tiny crafty goodness.
I do too! I’m just always amazed at the difference in stats between weekdays and weekends. Everyone’s out having fun, I suppose!
Hey, I’m Canadian… apologizing is in our blood! 😉

I read blogs on weekends too! It seems like the only time I have to read them these days.
That makes sense! Weekends are a great time to catch up.
Good times!!
