Whatever happened to January?! Seriously, it feels to me as though we were just celebrating the holidays (though perhaps that’s because I STILL haven’t taken down our string of greeting cards – must get on with that!)… yet here we are, already, with only a couple of days left in the first month of the new year. Cliché or not, time really does seem to fly.
But the good thing about this whole time-flying situation is that now we are given the gift of a brand spanking NEW month – an untapped resource full of promise, prospects, and possibilities. Yay for February! From a blogging perspective, how will you best take advantage of this wonderful opportunity? I have a suggestion…
Sign up for daily blogging with NaBloPoMo!
NaBloPoMo (short for National Blog Posting Month) is one of my favourite things about blogging. And now YOU have a chance to discover the joy for yourself! Whether you’re a seasoned NaBloPoMo signer-upper (like me), or maybe tried it a couple of times in the past (and finished – or not), or perhaps have never actually heard of the thing before (NaBloHUH?!), I’ve come up with what I believe are 12 rather compelling reasons why February 2015 is YOUR month to join in.
12 reasons why YOU should sign up for NaBloPoMo in February 2015!

- If you made New Year’s Resolutions and are still going strong, committing to blogging daily in February will help you keep up the momentum.
- If you made New Year’s Resolutions but have been slacking off, committing to blogging daily in February will help you get back on track.
- If you totally missed the boat on New Year’s Resolutions, this is your chance to start a new month by making a positive commitment to yourself!
- February is the shortest month of the year, which makes it the easiest month to complete a FULL month of daily blogging.
- Daily blogging will help you develop discipline.
- Daily blogging will help you hone your writing skills.
- Daily blogging will help you think creatively.
- You will connect with new writers and attract new readers – and maybe even make some friends – through your participation in NaBloPoMo.
- The NaBloPoMo February 2015 theme is “Make” – which, as you might suspect, delights my soul! I was especially thrilled to read that, “This month we want to celebrate you and your creativity.” You are creative – yes, YOU! – and here’s an amazing chance to discover, tap into, and share your own particular brand of creativity with the world.
- The NaBloPoMo writing prompts focused around the theme of “Make” are thought- and action-provoking. Who knows what you might be inspired to do and write?!
- If you don’t happen to be inspired by the theme of the month and/or the prompts, it doesn’t actually matter, because you know what? You’re allowed to write about anything you want. The only rule of NaBloPoMo is that you have to post something every day.
- I’m doing NaBloPoMo, and I’d LOVE your company!

So have I convinced you yet? Then what are you waiting for?! Head on over to BlogHer and sign up already! Then, when you’re done, come back here and share a link to your blog in the comments below so we can all follow along!
So… will YOU be doing NaBloPoMo in February?
Please share!

Aahh, Laurel! You make a compelling argument. I’m really not sure if I’m willing to commit. I like what I’m doing with the 3 days a week thing. I can focus on other blog tasks/activities, while also attending to Baby Boy, plus get a little bit of mental chill time. I’m really interested in the month’s theme though. I may have to compromise and look into the topics, but not really participate lol 🙂

That are a lot of convincing reason but I am packing for shifting to a new state in a couple of months and just don’t think I can manage. I like the theme MAKE, lots of scope there.
All the best to you.

Oh, I would never want to commit to ANYTHING in the middle of a move – moves are all-consuming! All the best for a smooth shift.

Another compelling reason why I should. I’ve got a novel coming out on March 1. More posting means more opportunities for folks to see my site and maybe check out my book. Alas, do I have the time and/or energy?

Oh, that’s a very compelling reason indeed! More exposure is always good. I say go for it!

I’ve participated in NaBloPoMo for several months now. I probably will again, but what I am really looking forward to is the A to Z Challenge. I’ve blogged daily for several years so daily blogging is part of my routine. But thinking of a post for every letter of the alphabet will be a challenge. I do have a feeling what I will blog about for “Z”, though. Unless I decide to blog about Zombies.

I haven’t decided yet whether or not I’ll do the A to Z Challenge. I REALLY enjoyed it last year, but can’t think of a theme that would top my Tangling from A to Z series! We’ll see if I get inspired. 🙂

I originally thought I would partake in a daily blogging challenge in February, in part as it is the shortest month; however, I am not sure if I can do so practically and I have a ‘project’ on the go. I shall see…time will tell… 😉 <3

The theme sure sounds interesting and I’m looking forward to see what you make. Not sure I’ll take it up though – already planning my AtoZ. Where’s the time???

I know what you mean! I still haven’t decided about A to Z – we’ll have to see if I can come up with a theme that interests me as much as the one I did last year. 🙂

I’m glad to join the challenge. I blog daily anyway, so it would be good to link up with new bloggers.

I have joined for NaBloPoMo October. Completed successfully my poetry/fiction blog. In November I did the bold step of signing up both my blogs and blogged daily at both spaces till day 21. Then fell sick, me and whole family and couldn’t continue with blogging daily. So even if I join in February, I won’t be signing up both the blogs. Still thinking whether to join or not. Probably I will. 🙂 you are so convincing, Laurel. 🙂

I am always impressed when people can manage to maintain two blogs – I tried it a couple of times, but never could manage to do justice to both!
