To be quite honest, today’s descriptor falls more along the lines of blah than happy. The weather, while warm enough, is dull and grey with no trace of our recent streak of sunshine and blue skies. Peter has been struggling with hip pain for quite awhile now, and the past couple of days have been especially bad, so he is feeling quite blue and is disinclined to hang out with me and be cheerful. (Not that I blame him.) And I, the eternal procrastinator (at least when it comes to household chores), have allowed several loads of laundry to pile up, which need to be taken care of this evening – so nothing to look forward to there!
It’s one of those days where happiness is found in the little moments I create for myself. I don’t know if it’s my part-British heritage, but my go-to at times such as this is a nice cup of hot, sweet, milky tea. Seriously, I swear by it! It’s about the quickest and easiest happy-making thing there is – instant self-care and comfort in a mug.
So today’s happiness is brought to you – in my tiny way – by a steaming mug of Celestial Seasonings Bengal Spice Herbal Tea (which, by the way, is absolutely divine and tastes like autumn). Hopefully it’ll be enough to fortify me for an evening with the washing machine!
And hopefully tomorrow is a happier day.

What made you happy today?
Please share!

Buck up, buttercup. Only 6 more sleeps until you see the old bookcrossing gang again. And just to make you feel even better, I managed to get 3 loads done today and lived to tell the tale. 😉
Hugs to you both

We have blah skies, too. But it’s warm for October and that makes me happy.

I absolutely LOVE Bengal Spice tea!
What made me happy today? Taking my dogs for a long walk and just being outside in the sunshine.

Tea is always good for soothing the soul. Especially on dreary days. I had myself a cup of Constant Comment (orange rinds with cinnimon and cloves.)

Aww.. Laurel…. 🙂 As my tagline says.. It’s the lil’ things.. 🙂 And I might as well say, I always go with a cup of coffee in my blah days unlike my hubby who prefers tea. …

I have a cup of coffee every morning, but tea is definitely an afternoon/evening treat, especially for the blah days. 🙂

Tea always makes me happy. I hope things look up for you tomorrow, and kudos for finding something to be happy about when you don’t really feel it.

I’m so sorry to hear that Peter is in pain again, Laurel. Oddly, Jose has been experiencing back and hip pain too and we were so worried that he might need another surgery. It turns out that he has lumbar spondylosis. He’s presently wearing a support belt and feeling better. I hope Peter feels better too soon.
You know how we love our tea in India! I must have at least two cups a day. Mine comes from the Nilgiri Hills in South India, but Darjeeling (which is in Bengal) is pretty good too.

So sorry to hear about Jose, Corinne – I’m glad he’s feeling better now, though. In Peter’s case it’s the other hip (the one which hasn’t yet been operated on), which is going to be replaced in November. We’ll both be so glad when that day comes!
