100 Happy Days – Day 20

To be quite honest, today’s descriptor falls more along the lines of blah than happy. The weather, while warm enough, is dull and grey with no trace of our recent streak of sunshine and blue skies. Peter has been struggling with hip pain for quite awhile now, and the past couple of days have been especially bad, so he is feeling quite blue and is disinclined to hang out with me and be cheerful. (Not that I blame him.) And I, the eternal procrastinator (at least when it comes to household chores), have allowed several loads of laundry to pile up, which need to be taken care of this evening – so nothing to look forward to there!

It’s one of those days where happiness is found in the little moments I create for myself. I don’t know if it’s my part-British heritage, but my go-to at times such as this is a nice cup of hot, sweet, milky tea. Seriously, I swear by it! It’s about the quickest and easiest happy-making thing there is – instant self-care and comfort in a mug.

100 Happy Days – Day 20

So today’s happiness is brought to you – in my tiny way – by a steaming mug of Celestial Seasonings Bengal Spice Herbal Tea (which, by the way, is absolutely divine and tastes like autumn). Hopefully it’ll be enough to fortify me for an evening with the washing machine!

And hopefully tomorrow is a happier day.
