Those of you who know me really, really well know that I have a bit of a “thing” for office supplies and organizational tools. I absolutely adore them and, geeky as it might sound, could spend ages happily wandering through the stationery aisles on a blissful quest for binders and paper and pens, oh my!
So today’s happiness is brought to you by – wait for it – a binder. Ah! But not just any binder! See, I’ve been working on getting my blogging calendars and spreadsheets (Geek Admission #2) organized, and was wistfully wishing that someone would invent something that was a cross between a binder, a notebook, and a folder. I wasn’t exactly sure what form that would take, but I knew I wanted something that was a) less bulky than a binder, but that still had rings so I could add and remove pages as needed, and b) light and flexible like a notebook or folder. I seriously doubted that I’d find such a thing, so headed to the store to pick up a regular old binder instead… but couldn’t resist a stroll through the office supplies (Geek Admission #3) while I was there. Well, I’m glad I did, because I found exactly what I was looking for but didn’t know existed!
OK, I realize that it doesn’t look like much of anything from my photo, but take my word for it that this is really quite a wonderful product (and no, this is not a paid review… just my opinion!). It has a flexible plastic cover (like a folder) that folds over on itself (like a notebook), rings (like a binder) that are flexible and won’t break or misalign, and comes with four plastic pocket dividers and a whole bunch of punched paper (both lined and graph) to help me organize my documents. (You know what? Here’s a link to the product page, so you can see it in a little more detail than my sorry little picture provides.)
So today I gleefully brought out my label maker (Geek Admission #4) and had great fun (Geek Admission #5) setting up and organizing my new blogging folder/notebook/binder.
What can I say? Office supplies, new products, getting organized… there’s a whole lot of happy all in one place. 🙂

Thank you! It’s kind of nice when such little things make one happy. 🙂

Wow. A lady after my own heart! I, too, am a lover of all things paper. Many happy hours spent organizing and re-organizing, tagging with multi colored flags or the super little metal page darts. I seldom “bend” a page for any reason, just seems wrong. Own a huge collection of journals, each its own purpose and many, many binders. Search always on for the perfect one. Yes, a trip through the aisles of my fav stationer is always sure to bring a smile to my face. One more thing – love boxes, little boxes ………..

There is always something heartening about people who treasure a good book to WRITE ON. I have quite a few like these, all meant for specific purposes and I take great pride in maintaining them too.

I’m very gadget-oriented, but there are some things that just can’t be replaced… and writing on paper is one of them. 🙂

So funny. I love your enthusiasm. Why shouldn’t you enjoy something that makes you happy. As long as you have the breath in your lungs and the money in your purse, do what makes you happy. I like the sound of the folder. I bought a few vastly inferior files with a stiff flap that keeps trying to shut itself. What a frustrating thing.

There’s definitely something to be said for products that do what you want and expect them to do!

I’ve got the same addiction. I have an entire box of notebooks, unused. And various other office supplies. sigh.

It’s the time of year for it too. Spring is good but there is something about getting things in order as you start a new project that makes Fall special.
